Already getting immense play on Nihal’s BBC Radio One ‘Desi Beats’ show, ‘This DJ’ is produced by popular Asian music DJ / producer DJ Dips & features the vocals of one of India’s biggest female singers – Miss Pooja.
DJ Dips has been DJing since he was 11 & has been building his presence in the Asian roadshow & club circuit, DJing at venues such as Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher & across Europe & North America. As part of Ominous DJs he released 2 very successful albums in the Asian market & in 2008 the much in demand DJ started work on his solo project.
Last year, Dips released his debut solo Bhangra (North Indian music) album ‘Stand Up Vol. 1’, the album delivered the longest running No.1 single of the year on the BBC Asian Network chart – ‘Gerra De De’.
‘This DJ’ is a mash up of Bhangra & grime. Taking the vocal from ‘Gerra De De’, Dips has given the track a makeover, complete with a hard hitting beat & 5 talented MCs, making it almost unrecognisable. MC Rax, Menis, RKZ, Horizon & Swami Baracus, have each added their individual lyrical twists to this funky grime inspired track, which is sure to be a club banger.
‘This DJ’ will be releasing via iTunes, Amazon, Play.com and all other good music stores on 1st March 2010.
